Attempted Smuggling in Albania: Licensed Goods Hidden in Vehicle, 31-Year-Old Arrested in the Act
As part of the ongoing efforts by the Border Police to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border, an incident occurred at the Qafë Thanë Border Crossing Point (PKK) on entry to the Republic of Albania. A vehicle driven by a citizen, identified as F.V., was directed to a secondary inspection line for a detailed search.
During the inspection, packages containing pharmaceuticals requiring special import licenses were discovered concealed in the vehicle. Citizen F.V. was attempting to bring these goods into Albania without declaring them, in violation of applicable laws.
Following procedural actions for the case, the Crime Investigation Specialists of the Local Police Directorate of Korçë arrested the 31-year-old citizen, F.V., a resident of Pogradec, in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of “Smuggling of Licensed Goods.”
The case materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korçë for further legal proceedings.
