Seven Elite League Football Players and Four Officials from Ethiopia Reportedly Escape After Friendly Match in the USA.
In August of this year, MLS club DC United formalized a partnership with the Ethiopian Football Federation and the Ethiopian Premier League to foster the development of future talent in Ethiopia.
This partnership also provided a great opportunity for Ethiopian clubs and their national team to visit “Audi Field,” the home stadium of DC United.
On September 8, the stadium hosted Ethiopian Premier League clubs St. George FC and Ethiopian Coffee SC.
After the match, seven players and four officials, including media representatives from both teams, were reported to have “escaped.”
