Police 38 year old arrested for human trafficking also found with cannabis

DVP KorçëCaught in the act, transporting 4 migrants for a fee in an unlicensed vehicle, a 38-year-old is arrested.The vehicle, 3 mobile phones, and a small quantity of the narcotic substance cannabis sativa were seized from the arrested individual.Specialists in Investigating Illicit Trafficking at DVP Korçë, in continuation of their work to combat criminal activities assisting citizens from Third Countries, for a fee, with the aim of illegally crossing the border towards EU countries, in collaboration with the Police Oversight Agency Korçë-Elbasan and supported by information from police intelligence, organized and concluded the police operation codenamed “Midnight 26.”As a result of the operation, the 38-year-old resident of the village Vishocicë, Devoll, identified as D. G., was arrested in the act.The police stopped the “Benz” type vehicle driven by the 38-year-old as it was leaving the city of Pogradec. During the vehicle inspection, 4 migrants were discovered being transported for a fee, intending to illegally cross the border.Further verifications and checks revealed that the vehicle was being driven by D. G. without a driving license, and he also had a small quantity of the narcotic substance cannabis sativa.As material evidence, the vehicle used for transportation, 3 mobile phones, and the quantity of cannabis were seized.The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance General Jurisdiction Court in Korçë for further actions.
