Korçë / Mega operation to crack down on forgery of documents in order to prevent illegal migration to Great Britain, the USA, Canada and the Schengen area.A laboratory used for the production of forged documents is discovered and seized.The police mega-operation coded “The counterfeiters”, developed by the Economic-Financial Crime Investigation Section in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the State Police, under the direction of the District Prosecutor’s Office, is finalized, after 5-month investigations.A criminal group that produced and provided forged travel documents, identification, graduation, driving and residence permits, Albanian and foreign citizens to travel to the Schengen area, USA, Canada, England, etc., was discovered and attacked.3 citizens who were engaged in this criminal activity were arrested, against the payment of 300-10000 euros.Hundreds of forged documents, photocopies of foreign and Albanian documents, suspected to be forged, computer equipment, production and plasticizing machines, stamps, symbols, emblems of foreign countries, vehicles, sums of money secured by this activity are seized.Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime of DVP Korçë, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the State Police, under the direction of the District Prosecutor’s Office, following the work for the prevention, evidence and attack of illegality in the field of forgery of documents, after a 5-month investigation, based also on the information provided by the police intelligence that 3 citizens carried out criminal activity in the form of a structured criminal group in the city of Korça, organized and finalized the police mega-operation coded “The Counterfeiters”.As a result of this operation, the decision of the Korça Court was executed, which set the security measure “Arrest in prison” and the wanted citizens were detained:- Th. Sh., 60 years old; B. D., 52 years old, resident of Korça.Also, within this operation, the following citizen was arrested in the act:- A. R., 57 years old, resident in Korça, with a previous criminal record in the field of document forgery.The Police Services during the checks carried out within this operation in the residences of two citizens Th. Sh. and B. D., and in the latter’s vehicle, they found computer equipment, plasticizing machines, photocopies of foreign documents and a sum of money.Following the procedural actions, during the control exercised in the residence of the citizen A.R., an environment adapted as a laboratory for the production of various forged Albanian and foreign documents was discovered.From the investigations carried out, it results that these citizens in cooperation with each other, in return for significant payments from 300 euros to 10,000 euros, produced and sold to interested persons, Albanians and citizens from third countries, Albanian and foreign documents, falsified, to travel to the SCHENGEN area, USA, Canada, England, etc.As material evidence, a significant amount of suspected forged foreign and Albanian documents were seized (identity cards, American, French, Greek, German, Bulgarian passports, residence permits, driving licenses, school diplomas); photocopies of foreign documents; computer accessories; production and plasticizing machinery; seals, symbols, emblems of foreign countries; vehicles; sums of money which are suspected to have benefited from this illegal activity.Megaoperaicon follows.The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
