Korçë / A case of smuggling of goods was struck.The 48-year-old man was caught transporting a significant amount of smuggled food (milk by-product) by vehicle.A customs officer of the Kapshtica Customs Point was also arrested, as he allegedly abused his duty by allowing the amount of the product to pass illegally.The amount of smuggled food product is seized.Specialists for the Investigation of Economic-Financial Crimes of DVP Korçë, following the work to prevent, identify and attack criminal activity in the field of goods smuggling, based on informational intelligence, in cooperation with the Police Surveillance Agency, have hit another occasion. As a result, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:-A. M., 48 years old and M. T., 32 years old, resident in Tirana.The Police Services, on the “Korçë-Bilisht” road axis, near the village of Dishnicë, Korçë, have stopped the “Benz” type vehicle, driven by the citizen A. M., in which, during the control, 179 boxes with a significant amount of product were found and seized. smuggled food (milk by-product).Following the actions, the citizen M. T., who is a customs officer of the Kapshtica Customs Point, was also arrested in the act, as he is suspected of abusing his duty, favoring the citizen A. M., to pass the amount of food product illegally, without fulfilling the customs duties.The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further action.
