Skënderbeu has closed the transfer window with yet another signing.

The player in question is Liridon Balaj, a 25-year-old midfielder who, starting today, has joined the training sessions with Skënderbeu and is expected to sign a two-season contract with the club.

It is official that Balaj is now part of Skënderbeu. He grew up in Kosovo with Besa of Peja until 2019, after which he moved to teams such as Aarau in Switzerland, Deinze in Belgium, and then to Schaffhausen in Germany. Recently, as part of the Belgian team Deinze, Liridon has now joined Skënderbeu.

Today, Balaj has started training with Skënderbeu and will now be part of the white and red squad, filling the gaps in the midfield.

In the first match of yesterday, Egnatia secured an easy victory over Bylis, thrashing them 4-0. In the evening, at “Niko Dovana,” Vllaznia achieved an important win against local team Teuta, with a score of 2-1.

As a result, Vllaznia and Egnatia are currently leading the Superliga with 10 points each after five rounds.

Today, the last three matches of the fifth round will be played. At 16:00, Laçi will host Partizani in an interesting encounter, where the hosts will be looking to secure their first win of the season.

Last year, after 4 weeks, Skënderbeu had 2 wins and 2 losses; this season they have 1 win, 1 draw, and 2 losses.

In fact, last season Skënderbeu started a major turnaround after the 6th week, when they won 1-2 away against Erzeni. Let’s see if we will indeed have a repeat of this scenario in the new season.
