“Yesterday, the National Council of Pre-University Education met under the leadership of the Minister of Education and Sports, Ms. Ogerta Manastirliu.
The president of Independent Trade Union of Albanian Education, Mr. Nevrus Kaptelli, and the chairman of Federation of Trade Unions of Albanian Education and Science, Mr. Shpëtim Brahaj, asked the Minister to adjust the group salary for all teachers who have been unjustly denied it until now. The Minister stated that all claims will be discussed on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility.
ITUAE and FTUAES urge all their teacher members to contact their respective union leaders at the LEO (Local Educational Office), bringing copies of their diplomas, in order to resolve their group salary issue.
Additionally, the Minister positively responded to the request for training to be conducted by faculty educators at the teacher training colleges, at the LEO, to avoid long and costly travels for teachers who have previously completed their training in the prefecture centers.
