“I’m not sure if we’ll make it to the Final 4,” Gvozdenović speaks as a ‘yellow-blue’: Elbasani is a good club, we’ll talk about the objectives in May

Date:

The new coach of Elbasan, Ivan Gvozdenović, spoke immediately after his presentation, sharing his first words as part of the “yellow-blue” team. The 46-year-old Serbian praised Elbasan, describing it as a team with quality. However, Gvozdenović refrained from making promises, expressing uncertainty about securing a spot in the top four.

“I know the team well. We’ve faced each other two or three times in friendlies and also in the championship. The first match was 1-1 in Korçë, and here it was 0-0. I know the squad—it’s good and has quality. Elbasan is currently in fifth place with 21 points. It’s not a bad situation; it’s normal. But we will definitely try to improve. We have three weeks and three matches away. We will work hard and give our best effort.

Elbasan is a great club, with fans, traditions, and a well-known name. I understand the desire to reach the ‘Final Four,’ and it’s a fair goal. But I’ve only been here for a day, so I can’t definitively say we’ll secure a top-four spot. It wouldn’t be right to guarantee it. We’ll give our maximum effort and fight for the club’s objective. Whether we achieve it or not, we’ll assess in May when the championship ends. I have confidence in the team and am very positive, but we’ll take it one week at a time and see how things unfold,” said Gvozdenović.
