A new era of Hungarian-American cooperation, the 4iG group part of discussions with Trump and Musk

Date:

A high-level meeting between U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán took place at Mar-a-Lago, focusing on Hungary’s space industry initiatives and the potential for technological collaboration.

The meeting included Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, 4iG Group Chairman Gellért Jászai, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and incoming U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. Discussions revolved around 4iG Group’s satellite program, SpaceX services, and opportunities for fostering trade and technology partnerships.

On Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Orbán, accompanied by Foreign Minister Szijjártó and 4iG Chairman Gellért Jászai, met with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Michael Waltz. The agenda highlighted the innovative HUSAT satellite program by 4iG, a groundbreaking initiative for Central and Eastern Europe. The HUSAT program aims to advance satellite-based telecommunications and Earth observation technologies.

The program includes the development of a satellite production facility in Martonvásár, Hungary, a collaboration between 4iG Group and Remred. Scheduled to launch in 2026, the project envisions low Earth orbit satellites weighing up to 400 kilograms. Alongside the satellite program review, the meeting explored possibilities for artificial intelligence development and strengthening U.S.-Hungarian collaboration in trade and technology.

Reflecting on the discussions, Gellért Jászai emphasized the constructive and friendly atmosphere of the meeting, marking an important step towards deeper cooperation. Such efforts, he noted, aim to align with cutting-edge technologies and bolster transatlantic economic ties.
