The search efforts continue today for 39-year-old Vasilios Kalogirou, whose whereabouts have been unknown since the afternoon of Monday, December 30, at 2:24 PM in Larisa. His disappearance has raised alarm, with ongoing search efforts that, so far, have yielded no results. The investigation is currently focused around the Pinios area, with the police, firefighters, and EMAK personnel involved.
Vasilios’s mother, Sophia Apostolakis, has been an appellate prosecutor since 2023, and his uncle, George Apostolakis, is a former vice-president of the Supreme Court and a deputy in the Greek Parliament with the “Niki” party.
The police investigation, which intensified on Thursday, January 2, has been concentrated on the river, particularly around the Alcazar and Pinios regions.
“Vasilios Kalogirou, 39, went missing from his parents’ home in Larisa, where he was visiting for the holidays, on the afternoon of December 30, 2024, when he went for his daily walk and never returned. Since then, there has been no sign of life from him,” reads the statement released following his disappearance.
