A massive fire has engulfed thousands of acres of land in Southern California, forcing at least 30,000 people to evacuate.
The fire in Pacific Palisades grew from 10 acres to more than 2,900 acres in just a few hours.
Footage shows neighborhoods engulfed by flames, with residents abandoning their vehicles to escape the fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department has just issued a call for more help from off-duty firefighters.
A second fire broke out later in the evening near Altadena, close to Eaton Canyon, about 40 km (26 miles) inland from Pacific Palisades.
At least 200,000 people in Los Angeles County are now without power. Some schools have announced closures due to strong winds and power outages.
A state of emergency has been declared, and President Joe Biden has approved the use of federal funds to support the affected areas.
Millions of other people in California are at risk.
