The war between Ukraine and Russia could escalate. This is the grim prediction of the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, during one of his conferences at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s negotiating tactics with Ukraine during his speeches at Mar-a-Lago, warning that the war “could escalate.”
“That war could escalate and be much worse than it is now. This is a war that should never have happened. I guarantee you, if I were President, that war would never have happened. It all started with Joe Biden. Russia saw NATO approaching its doorstep. I could understand their feelings about this. I said during negotiations, you’re going to end up in a war, and it turned out to be a very bad war, and it could escalate much worse than it is now,” Trump declared.
Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Trump was even more severe. This time, his target was Gaza and Hamas. Donald Trump warned that if the hostages still held in Gaza were not released by the time of his inauguration on January 20, “all hell would break loose in the Middle East”: “It won’t be good for Hamas, and it won’t be good, honestly, for anyone. All hell will break loose. I don’t need to say more, but that’s what it is. The October 7 attack should never have happened.”
Meanwhile, Trump promised to rename the Gulf of Mexico: “We will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring to it. It covers a lot of territory, the Gulf of America – what a beautiful name. And it’s appropriate.”
Trump repeated his call for Mexico to help stop illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border and his promise to impose tariffs on Mexico.
In the meantime, Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of using the military to gain control over the Panama Canal or Greenland. Asked by a reporter whether he could assure the world that he would not use military or economic pressure, Trump said: “No, I cannot assure you of that.”
