Meteorologist Tanja Porja stated on ‘Dita Jonë’ on A2 CNN that today will be the last day with such high temperatures, typical of autumn.
Porja mentioned that the rest of January is expected to be much colder, typical of a ‘harsh’ winter.
She also explained that the temperatures in the country during these days have been high, 19-20 degrees Celsius, partly due to the southern winds.
“It’s a matter of hours, a matter of 48 hours, for the weather to change completely. These high temperatures of 19 or 20 degrees Celsius might be seen again in February or March, as in the coming days we expect much lower temperatures, much lower than those typical of winter.
Today we will see a drop in temperatures of at least 2 degrees, mainly in the northern areas, with a smaller decrease in the central and southern regions. There will be clear skies and passing clouds, but no precipitation. The minimum will remain around 2 degrees in the mountainous areas.
There will mainly be rain showers, while snowfall is expected above 1500 meters in elevation. We will have short-term downpours occasionally in the northwestern part of the territory. The wind, with an average speed, will continue to be southern, which is why we are seeing these high temperatures,” said meteorologist Porja, as reported by A2 CNN.
