Last night, Skënderbeu U-17 returned home with a major success after advancing to the semifinals of the Albanian Cup. Facing Tirana in the capital, the Skënderbeu youth team managed to defeat the host team with a 3-2 victory, thus securing their spot in the semifinal stage.
In this phase, Skënderbeu U-17 will face Apolonia, another match to be played in the capital. This gives the team a great opportunity to reach the grand final and compete for the prestigious Albanian Cup trophy. Below are the results from the quarterfinal stage as well as the upcoming semifinal matchups.
Unlike Skënderbeu U-17, the club’s U-19 team played their quarterfinal match yesterday but were eliminated. Skënderbeu U-19 fell to Dinamo with a 4-1 defeat. It’s worth noting, however, that Skënderbeu U-19 currently leads the league standings with a comfortable 10-point gap over their closest rivals.
