A man, identified by neighbors as a member of the wealthy Rothschild family, lost his life in a fire that engulfed a two-story house in the Hollywood Hills.
Firefighters responded to the incident on the 8500 block of Lookout Mountain Avenue around 4:40 PM. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 45 firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze in about 33 minutes.
Inside the home, they discovered a deceased man. Authorities have yet to release his name, but neighbors identified him as Will Rothschild, a prominent member of the influential Rothschild banking family.
The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. It remains unclear what may have caused the fire, and the incident is still under investigation. No other injuries have been reported.
Neighbors described Rothschild as an eccentric millionaire—or perhaps billionaire—who owned several properties and dozens of luxury cars.
In a neighborhood filled with multi-million-dollar homes and villas inhabited by celebrities and influential figures, Rothschild was said to have lived a solitary life. While some neighbors claimed they had never seen him and assumed the house was unoccupied, those who knew him expressed sadness over his loss.
The Rothschild family, on the other hand, is a wealthy Jewish noble banking family originating from Frankfurt. Their documented history dates back to 16th-century Frankfurt. They are considered one of the richest families in the world, thanks to their ownership of numerous banks across the globe.
