An alarm was raised in New York when, after a plane landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, two people were found dead in the landing gear.
JetBlue confirmed that the bodies were discovered during a post-flight maintenance check on Monday, after the aircraft landed on the runway.
“Tragically, both individuals passed away. At this time, the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding how they entered the plane remain under investigation,” the company said early Tuesday.
“This is a distressing situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred,” the statement further read.
