Democratic Party MP Asllan Dogjani, during a meeting of the DP parliamentary group, spoke about his recent appearance at SPAK (the Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure), providing details about the matter.
Dogjani claimed that a legal complaint was directed against him after he reported cases of public property theft. He emphasized that this was not just an attack on him personally but a broader attempt to silence opposition MPs who raise their voices against corruption.
He stated, “I want to share my case regarding a prosecution initiated against me by Rama’s government. I have consistently exposed the corruption of this government wherever I’ve been. My summons to SPAK concerns the house where I’ve lived with my three children since 2006. Consider the level to which SPAK has stooped—focusing on me instead of addressing issues like luxury hotels, villas, public property thefts, and the Port of Durrës. They’ve initiated a case against me without evidence, sending me to SPAK simply because I requested a parliamentary interpellation with Rama about public property theft in the heart of the capital.
The house in question has legally documented ownership. However, 20 years later, and just after I raised this issue, they accused me of ‘failing to declare assets.’ SPAK should focus on those who truly steal. This is not only an attack on me but on every opposition MP who dares to speak up. I will continue to expose these wrongdoings daily, and Edi Rama cannot stop me,” Dogjani declared.
