Korçë / The implementation of measures outlined in the operational plan “Rule of Law” continues.

Dozens of cocaine doses were confiscated from the home of a suspected individual involved in drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and disobedience to police orders.

As part of the investigative actions conducted for a case of drug production and trafficking, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Sector, under the authority of the First Instance Court of Korçë, carried out a search at the residence of the wanted individual, M. D., 33, residing in Korçë.

During the search, dozens of suspected cocaine doses were found and seized as material evidence.

M. D. is wanted for the criminal acts of “Production and sale of narcotics,” “Organization of illegal lotteries,” and “Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer.” On September 27, 2024, he failed to comply with police orders to stop his vehicle and fled the scene. Investigative actions suggest that this individual was involved in drug trafficking and organizing illegal gambling activities.

Efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.

Local Police Directorate of Korçë / Traffic Police Sector Arrests in Flagrance

Citizen E. Ç., 23 years old, residing in the village of Barç, was arrested in flagrante by the Traffic Police Sector on “Republika” Boulevard for driving a vehicle without a driver’s license.

The Police Commissariat of Korçë has submitted materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against L. R., a 50-year-old resident of Korçë. According to preliminary investigations, L. R. violated a protection order issued by the court in favor of his ex-wife by approaching her residence, in open defiance of the legal decision. The Devoll Police Station has referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against D. A., a 38-year-old resident of Borsh village, Devoll. She is suspected of stealing a wallet containing a sum of money from a 49-year-old woman while they were traveling in the same vehicle.

Border Police Kapshticë

A 38-year-old had hidden €30,000 in the cabin of the truck he was driving, intending to smuggle it into Albania without declaring it. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him.

The sum of money has been seized. As part of their ongoing efforts to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border, the Border Police at Kapshticë conducted a detailed inspection of a “Volvo” truck driven by citizen G. Gj. During the inspection, €30,000 was found hidden in the truck’s cabin, which G. Gj. intended to bring into Albania without declaring it as required by law.

Following the procedural actions in this case, the specialists from the Crime Investigation Unit of the Korçë Directorate of Border and Migration referred the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where legal proceedings were initiated against G. Gj., a 38-year-old resident of Tirana, for the criminal offense of “Failure to declare money and valuables at the border.” The euros were also seized as material evidence.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against citizen S. M., a resident of Korça. He was caught in neighborhood 9 operating a currency exchange without a license. As material evidence, the police seized 150,000 lekë and 210 euros that were being used for this activity.

A young man from the city of Korça has been arrested by the police after being penalized by a court for drug trafficking and possession of ammunition.

“The Narcotics Investigation Section executed the security measure of ‘Arrest in prison’ for the citizen M. R., 24 years old, residing in Korça, as ordered by the Korça Court, for the criminal offenses of ‘Production and sale of narcotics’ and ‘Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives, and ammunition,'” stated the official press release from the Regional Directorate of Police in Korça.

Korçë: As a result of the implementation of the megaoperation “Rule of Law,” a case of smuggling goods subject to excise tax was uncovered.

Police discovered 160 packs of untaxed cigarettes in a vehicle and at a residence, suspected to have been smuggled from Greece. A 46-year-old Greek national was arrested at the scene.

The police seized the cigarette packs, a sum of cash, the vehicle, and two mobile phones.

Specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, continuing their efforts to prevent, detect, and combat criminal activities in the field of smuggling, acted on intelligence information to dismantle this criminal operation. The arrested individual, V. T., 46, residing in Greece, faces charges of “Smuggling goods subject to excise tax or evading customs duties” and “Trading and transporting smuggled goods,” as well as “Concealing income.”

At the entrance of the city of Devoll, police stopped a vehicle driven by V. T., during which they found dozens of untaxed cigarette packs. Subsequently, during a search of his residence in the village of Çiflig, more packs of cigarettes without proper invoices were discovered.

In total, 160 packs of various types of cigarettes, 1,038 euros, two mobile phones, and the 46-year-old’s vehicle were seized as material evidence.
