The ‘Evangelismos’ hospital, where His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios has been hospitalized since Friday, has issued an official statement emphasizing that his health condition is extremely critical.
The Archbishop’s health deteriorated on Saturday evening, and the coming hours are considered critical.
However, the Archbishop has not been placed on intubation.
The Archbishop was admitted to a hospital in Tirana on December 30 due to an infection. His health condition worsened as a result of gastric bleeding, which led to the decision to transfer him to Greece.
It is also reported that on Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited him in the hospital and was briefed on the Archbishop Anastasios’s health condition by Professor of Pulmonology and Intensive Care, Anastasia Kotanidou.
