Another photo of Arben Ahmetaj, the former deputy prime minister of the Rama government, has recently surfaced.
The former deputy prime minister, who has been on the run for over a year, is seen in the company of two individuals at a café, believed to be in Switzerland, where the Albanian politician has reportedly sought refuge since July 2023.
In the published photo, Ahmetaj appears to be enjoying coffee and a cigar while conversing with unidentified individuals.
Ahmetaj remains a fugitive and has been declared internationally wanted by SPAK (Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime) on charges of abuse of office, allegedly causing significant economic damage to the state budget.
From Switzerland, where he has reportedly applied for asylum, the former deputy prime minister has refused to face Albanian justice, claiming that the process and evidence have been manipulated to politically target him.
Ahmetaj has stated that he will only face justice when it is fair and impartial.
