Egnatia won the Albanian Supercup for the first time in history, defeating Kukësi 2-0 in the final played yesterday evening at the “Arena Kombëtare” stadium.
The Rrogozhinas triumphed with goals from Serxho Ujka and Soumaila Bakayoko.
Egnatia started the match with the following starting lineup: Ilir Dobjan (GK), Albano Aleksi, Regi Lushkja, Soumaila Bakayoko, Renato Malota (C), Edison Ndreca, Arbin Zejnullai, Arbenit Xhemajli, Rezart Rama, Serxho Ujka, and Abdurraman Fangaj.
Kukësi started the match with the following starting lineup: Amarildo Dervishaj (GK), Erest Lamellari, Abiodun Basit Yusuf, Albi Matani, Mario Berishaj (C), Francesko Hasaj, Abdulkadir Abubakar Nasir, Xhuljan Kapllanaj, Redon Dragoshi, Geri Selita, and Redon Danaj.
Egnatia dominated the match from the start, and after several good chances, they managed to break the deadlock with Serxho Ujka in the 20th minute. The first half ended 1-0.
In the second half, the match became very interesting. Kukësi wasted several good opportunities, including a chance by captain Beshiraj. However, Egnatia scored their second goal in the 85th minute with Soumaila Bakayoko. The match ended 2-0 in favor of Egnatia.
The Vice President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Lutfi Nuri, distributed the medals to the teams and presented the Supercup trophy to Egnatia.
