Bledi Shkëmbi achieves 6 consecutive draws in charge of Tirana!

“I’m not enjoying it anymore, but even with 11 draws, you can still be champion,” said Shkëmbi: “We were superior; the derby didn’t excite me much.”

Tirana’s coach, Bledi Shkëmbi, who has also earned the nickname Mr. Draw, spoke after the goalless derby against Partizani. In his remarks, the Korça coach stated:

“I no longer respond to questions about when we will win. I compliment the guys; they played a pretty good match. For most of them, it was their first derby, and I think we were superior.

I don’t see any blockage with the forwards. It’s normal not to score sometimes. I’m satisfied with the attackers, even though they could have done a bit more. A derby match carries more weight. Our bigger issue was with concentration. We had our focus every second. We connected well with Micin and Kolën, along with the center-backs. It was my directive to be more careful. The speed of Partizani’s players could have put us in difficulty. When we had the opportunity, we needed to capitalize, but we couldn’t due to the opponent’s merit as well.

I think we did well up to this match. There was also a bit of psychological pressure. The forwards had a blockage in the last 30 meters.

I’m not one to get overly emotional; it was different from other matches, but I remained calm. I’m not happy with the draws anymore; we’ve had too many. We’ve seen teams become champions with 10 or 11 draws,” Shkëmbi expressed on the show “Super Gol” on RTSH Sport.

Albi Doka’s debut with Skënderbeu: This week, a match against his former team, Tirana!

Albi Doka’s debut with Skënderbeu was highly anticipated, and he made his appearance last weekend, coming on in the 77th minute during Skënderbeu’s 2-1 victory against Laçi.

Having joined the team a few days earlier, Albi will need time to adapt and reach his optimal form. At 27 years old, he finally made his debut wearing the red-and-white jersey on the field.

This was particularly significant for him as it marked his first time playing in Albania outside of Tirana and not in the familiar blue-and-white kit.

As a former player of Tirana, Albi Doka has certainly made the right choice, and after returning from Hungary, he feels more than comfortable in this jersey. Although he had just 13 minutes on the pitch for his debut, next week will be especially noteworthy for him. Tirana faces Skënderbeu this Sunday, and Doka will be up against his former team and the club where he grew up.

Nonetheless, Albi Doka is a true professional and will give his all for the red-and-white jersey.

Good luck, Albi!

The week suited Skënderbeu well

It was a week that suited Skënderbeu well, primarily because they secured three points against Laçi, which helped them climb in the standings.

This is also thanks to the draws from this week. Three draws prevented six teams from breaking away from the Korça team. Had any of this trio won, it would have created a gap. The teams that drew include Dinamo, Elbasani, Teuta, Egnatia, Tirana, and Partizani.

As a result, these teams each ended up with just one point, leaving the Korça team in a favorable mid-table position, with only a few points separating them from the top teams and also from the bottom.

The competition appears to be quite strong, with no significant point differences and several formidable teams. It seems that any team can falter and lose on any given field.

SKËNDERBEU: The victory against Laçi came at the right time!

With 7 points after the first 6 rounds, Skënderbeu’s victory last night against Laçi truly arrived at a crucial moment. At the “Skënderbeu” stadium, the team broke a 6-year streak without beating Laçi on their home ground.

The team led by Gvozdenoviç achieved a heartwarming win, and with these 3 points, the red-and-whites can finally breathe a sigh of relief, putting behind them their negative results.

In fact, before the match, we noted that last year Skënderbeu turned things around in week 6, and yesterday marked another week 6 where they returned to victory.

“A win with heart,” declared coach Ivan Gvozdenoviç, emphasizing the importance of the victory for both him and the players. Skënderbeu faced psychological pressure due to previous results, but after the draw, the players responded well, scoring the winning goal. Now, Skënderbeu is calmly sitting at 7 points, with today being a complete rest day to prepare for tomorrow’s focus on the upcoming match against Tirana, which will be a tough away game. However, the recent victory has restored calm and boosted the team’s morale.

Good luck, Skënderbeu!
