We are Skënderbeu” / The call that resonates with the white and red team

“We are Skënderbeu.” – This is the phrase that often resonates during the training sessions of the white and red team. The one who uses it the most is coach Ivan Gvozdenoviç. Whenever he seeks to motivate his players further, he reminds them that they carry a heavy jersey on their shoulders.

When asked about the objective for each match, Gvozdenoviç states, “We are Skënderbeu, and we step onto the field only for victory.” This mindset has taken root in the psychology and mentality of the players, who frequently use this saying and have begun to feel the deep responsibility they have toward this jersey.

It’s a jersey with its own glorious history, and it is expected to return to where it rightfully belongs very soon.

Gvozdenović admits it’s difficult now…

After last week’s match, coach Ivan Gvozdenović was asked about building his lineup and who he would field, and he honestly replied: “I can say that it’s truly difficult, as I have 25 players available, and I can trust all of them for the starting formation.

On the other hand, this is positive because I have alternatives on the field, and those coming off the bench add even more rhythm to the team.”

In fact, the new signings are showing very positive signs week by week, indicating that the players are ready to be starters. It should be noted that the competition is long and requires even more strength, as there may be yellow cards, injuries, or players out of form. This is precisely why the coach always emphasizes that he has a team of 25 players and does not distinguish between a first or second formation.

SKËNDERBEU / There seems to be calm, but the pressure is on…

“We are calmer,” say all the players of the white and red team after their victory over Laçi—a win that had weighed heavily on them and brought psychological pressure.

But now the situation is different, and they are looking ahead to the next match. The players know that pressure will be a constant throughout the season. However, coach Gvozdenoviç acknowledged, “It’s a positive pressure that benefits us all to move forward.”

The competition doesn’t end here; it’s too early to say whether things are good or bad. Week after week, comments will arise about the points accumulated. This week does present its own challenges, but the Korçë players are confident, as it’s not their first time playing an away game against a strong opponent.

They have shown they can earn full points even under these conditions, and against Tirana, that’s exactly what they will aim for.
