It is, as usual, our portal “Korça Boom” that first breaks the big news about Skënderbeu. This time, we reveal that Ivan Gvozdenović will no longer serve as the head coach of Skënderbeu.
The recent loss in Laç, combined with underwhelming results in the first 15 matches of the “Abissnet Superiore” season, prompted Gvozdenović to seriously consider his position. Following yesterday’s defeat in Kurbin, he officially submitted his resignation to the club’s president, Ardjan Takaj.
According to reliable sources, President Takaj has accepted Gvozdenović’s resignation, marking the end of his tenure with Skënderbeu. This 2024-2025 season has been far from ideal, as the team currently sits at the bottom of the table with just 13 points. These circumstances ultimately led Gvozdenović to step down.
The club is now expected to announce a new head coach soon, as time is of the essence. On Thursday, December 5th, Skënderbeu will face Tirana in Korçë for the 16th round of the league. Fans and the club alike are eager for an immediate turnaround.
