I’m always sorry to see the flowers and plants go, but I find the late summer into fall seeds fascinating. Here are just a few of them:
milkweed pods, which have dispersed all seeds by now and are so much fun to watch; wild asters, a favorite blue flower in the woodlands
in late summer and early fall; cup plant seedheads, which the birds have been enjoying; pretty asparagus seed pods; and false indigo
(baptisia) seed pods, which I enjoy seeing in the late summer garden.
Aside from the seeds being so important, I just think they’re pretty.
