The German Institute for Infectious Diseases, “Robert Koch Institute” (RKI), sees signs of the beginning of a flu wave in Germany.
According to RKI’s latest report, the number of infection cases has significantly increased since the beginning of December.
In recent years, January has also been the period when the number of infections has risen markedly.
Simply put, a flu wave is declared when influenza A or B viruses are found in one out of every five patient analyses.
