“With deep sorrow, we received the news of the passing of the legend of Albanian football, Sabah Bizi, a great name who left an indelible mark on the history of our sport.
As one of the icons of Vllaznia and the Albanian National Team, he debuted in Albanian football at a young age and became a symbol of talent and dedication. His encounter with Franz Beckenbauer in the historic match against Germany in 1967, despite being only 19 years old, is a testament to his greatness on the green field.
Throughout his brilliant career, Sabah Bizi won championship titles and cups, bringing moments of pride and excitement to Albanian football. Even after retiring from active football, he remained close to the sport he loved, making an extraordinary contribution to the development of younger generations as a coach and leader.
On behalf of the Albanian Football Federation and the entire football community, I extend my sincerest condolences to the Bizi family, his relatives, and his friends. Albanian football has lost a true legend, but his legacy will forever remain an inspiration for future generations.
