Date:

Today, on October 24, Korça commemorates the 80th anniversary of its liberation. It is no coincidence that at key moments in the history of this city, from its founding to the present, there have been distinguished figures who have elevated the name and fame of Korça!

On October 24, 1944, Jonuz Baliko Latollari, along with the British mission, was the first to enter liberated Korça, where they were greeted with cheers and bouquets of flowers from the patriotic people of this city. These indescribable moments of enthusiasm were expertly captured on film by Jonuz Baliko Latollari.

The author of the rare photos from the day of Korça’s liberation on October 24, 1944, is Jonuz Baliko Latollari (1887-1970) from Panarit-Grabockë, Korça, a participant in both World Wars.
