WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL: Here comes the derby of the South, Skënderbeu-Pogradeci…

The 5th week of the women’s volleyball super league will feature an exciting match as Skënderbeu hosts Pogradeci at the “Tamara Nikolla” sports hall in what everyone calls the southeastern derby.

Skënderbeu, led by Orlando Koja, will face a Pogradeci team that has just changed its coach and certainly has bigger ambitions this season than last year.

This 5th week comes for Skënderbeu after four consecutive wins, with 12 sets won and 1 lost, while Pogradeci has only 1 victory and had higher expectations.

The Skënderbeu-Pogradeci match will take place on Saturday at 17:00, and it is highly anticipated as it pits neighbors against each other.

In two friendly matches before the start of the championship, Skënderbeu defeated Pogradeci in both encounters, making the victory seem easy on paper. However, on the court, Skënderbeu’s coaching staff will seek not only a win but also an attractive performance.

Skënderbeu is undoubtedly the number one candidate for the trophy, and in the next two weeks, they will play two home matches. After this week, they will host their main rival, Partizani, and it is expected that the sports hall will be packed with fans.

Good luck to Orlando Koja’s girls! Wishing you success in achieving the championship title this season, Skënderbeu…

The Skënderbeu trio/ Rashica-Nikaj-Janaqi join the Albania U-21 training camp

During this time, until October 15th, three players will not be training with Skënderbeu. The talents in the red-and-white camp are numerous, while the usual trio from our national U-21 team comes from Skënderbeu: Ermir Rashica, Ardit Nikaj, and Dejvid Janaqi.

Yesterday, these three talented players were called up by coach Alban Bushi and are set to train for the match on October 15th, when Albania U-21 will host Armenia U-21 at “Air Albania.”

This means that the two forwards, Rashica and Nikaj, along with midfielder Dejvid Janaqi, will only report to coach Ivan Gvozdenoviç after October 15th, prior to the match against Bylis in the league.

Skënderbeu Has Always Had Talented Players in Our National Teams. However, the situation at Skënderbeu after the recent loss is not the best, as the team ranks 8th in the standings after 8 rounds.

We wish the three Skënderbeu players success and hope they honor the red-and-white jersey for Albania U-21. With their return, we hope the situation at Skënderbeu improves as well.

Good luck to Ermir, Ardit, and Dejvid!
