The number of victims in the shooting at a tavern in Cetinje, Montenegro, has risen to 7. Media reports indicate that the incident began with a physical confrontation inside the establishment, after which the perpetrator opened fire.
According to reports, among the victims were also minor children, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Danilo Sharanović, confirmed that the owner of the “Velestovo” restaurant and several of his family members were killed in the tragedy.
Sharanović further stated that members of the family of Aco Martinović, the suspected perpetrator of the killings, were also among the victims.
“All available police resources, led by the director of the Police Directorate, are in Cetinje with the goal of arresting the suspect for these murders. Several people have been killed, including the tavern owner and some of his family members, as well as members of the family of the suspected killer,” said Sharanović.
The police have begun verification efforts to capture the perpetrator, identified as Aco Martinović. They have asked Cetinje citizens to remain inside their homes and emphasized that the incident is not related to a clash between criminal groups, but is an isolated incident.
