Korça/ Operation “Accounts” Concludes After Several Months of Investigation
In March, 44-year-old Adrian Kroji threatened a citizen and his family on Facebook, demanding money. He has now been captured and arrested.
In June, the collaborator of the 44-year-old was also arrested in connection with this case.
Specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, as a result of a months-long investigation using proactive methods, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office of Korça, have concluded the police operation codenamed “Accounts.” This operation targeted a case of threats made on social media for the purpose of extortion.
During this operation, fugitive Adrian Kroji, 44, residing in Korça, was apprehended. The Korça Court has issued a detention order for him for the criminal offense of “Extortion through threats or violence for the purpose of obtaining property.”
Investigations suggest that this individual, in March, in collaboration with K. A. (who was arrested in June), threatened the life of a 37-year-old and his family, demanding sums of money ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 euros.
The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça for further action.
