Police here s who got arrested in korçë for document forgery

The operation “The Counterfeiters 2” has been finalized to combat the criminal activity of document counterfeiting in Korçë.Continuing to produce forged documents at home, despite being under house arrest for the same activity, a 58-year-old has been arrested.Seized items include Greek passports, computer equipment, production and counterfeiting machinery, cell phones, and a large sum of euros.The section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Korçë, following operation “The Counterfeiters,” finalized in July 2023, resulting in the discovery of a laboratory used for producing counterfeit documents and the arrest of 3 individuals caught in the act, has continued under the direction of the District Prosecutor’s Office, conducting investigative work to fully document this criminal activity and identify all involved individuals. As part of these actions, the citizen was arrested:Artur Rakip, 58 years old, residing in Korçë, currently under house arrest as ordered by the Korçë Court, for the case of document forgery uncovered in July 2023.Based on suspicions that this individual, who was arrested in 2023 along with 2 others during the operation codenamed “The Counterfeiters,” continued to engage in document forgery, a search was conducted at his residence. During the search, several Greek passports, computer equipment, production and forgery machinery, cell phones, and a large sum of euros were found and seized as material evidence.Work continues to identify and legally prosecute other individuals involved in this criminal activity.Additional procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korçë.
