A 67-year-old American tourist ended up in the hospital after falling from her bicycle. The incident occurred in the village of Moritë, Maliq. According to the police, the citizen R. Ch., aged 67, lost control while riding her bicycle and fell to the ground.

“At around 12:55, in the village of Koritë, Maliq, the citizen R. Ch., 67, lost control while riding her bicycle and fell to the ground.

The 67-year-old is receiving treatment at the Korça hospital and is out of danger.

The investigative team is working to clarify the circumstances of the case,” the police announced.

Pogradec/ Attempts to end her life with an overdose of medication, transported to Tirana in critical condition.

A serious incident occurred this afternoon in Pogradec. A woman residing in neighborhood number 1 attempted to take her own life by consuming an overdose of medication.

According to reports, the woman suffered from depression and was being treated with medication, but it appears that today her psychological state deteriorated significantly, leading her to take an overdose in an attempt to end her life.

After receiving first aid at the Pogradec hospital, the woman was airlifted to the Trauma Hospital in the capital as her condition was critical.

The Road Police Sector arrested in flagrante delicto the following individuals:

• F. H., 48 years old, was caught on the “Bilisht-Korçë” road axis while driving under the influence of alcohol.
• S. S., 25 years old, was caught on “Republika” Boulevard while driving without a license. Additionally, this sector referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against a 14-year-old who was caught in Bilisht driving without a license.

The Kolonjë Police Station referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against the citizen E. N., residing in Ersekë, who is suspected of damaging the security camera cable of a 64-year-old businessman for weak motives.

In the Korça Police Station, the citizen A. P., 46 years old, residing in Korça, reported that he was robbed of a sum of money and some cartons of cigarettes from his store in neighborhood No. 9. Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrator(s).

The Pogradec Police Station referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against the citizen Q. Ç., 36 years old, who is suspected of committing violence against her uncle’s wife for property reasons.

The Crime Investigation Sector of the DVKM Korça referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against the citizen E. V., 45 years old, residing in Korça, who was caught on September 20, 2024, entering RSh with a truck carrying suspected smuggled goods from Greece. Efforts are ongoing to identify other involved persons and fully document the case.

Korçë / The implementation of measures outlined in the operational plan “Rule of Law” continues.

Dozens of cocaine doses were confiscated from the home of a suspected individual involved in drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and disobedience to police orders.

As part of the investigative actions conducted for a case of drug production and trafficking, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Sector, under the authority of the First Instance Court of Korçë, carried out a search at the residence of the wanted individual, M. D., 33, residing in Korçë.

During the search, dozens of suspected cocaine doses were found and seized as material evidence.

M. D. is wanted for the criminal acts of “Production and sale of narcotics,” “Organization of illegal lotteries,” and “Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer.” On September 27, 2024, he failed to comply with police orders to stop his vehicle and fled the scene. Investigative actions suggest that this individual was involved in drug trafficking and organizing illegal gambling activities.

Efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.

Korçë / The mega-operation “Rule of Law” continues, targeting the capture of wanted individuals. A 45-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to set his wife on fire with flammable materials about a month ago.

As part of the ongoing effort to apprehend individuals in hiding, based on information gathered by police intelligence, specialists from the Sector for Investigating Crimes Against the Person, in cooperation with the Korçë Police Station, captured and arrested the wanted individual, E. T., 45 years old.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Korçë has issued an arrest warrant for this individual for the criminal act of “Murder due to family relations,” remaining in attempt, in connection with the incident that occurred on August 31, 2024, in neighborhood no. 2, Korçë, where this individual attempted to set his wife, M. T., on fire using gasoline.
