In response to public opinion regarding the accompaniment of the citizen I.M., we clarify that:
The State Police executed the decision of the Special Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption (GJKKO), at the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the arrest of citizen I.M., 55 years old. To implement this decision, the State Police took operational measures, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Regulations. Around 1:15 PM, the State Police received information and subsequently confirmed that in the area known as ‘Kthesa e Kamzës,’ in the Lapraka zone, citizen I.M. was traveling by vehicle towards Tirana.
At this moment, the vehicle was stopped, and the leader of the operational group communicated the court’s decision regarding the security measure of “Arrest in custody” and requested that citizen I.M. exit the vehicle.
Citizen I.M. reacted with refusal and resistance, using insulting language towards the representatives of the Police and Justice.
Based on the procedures outlined in the Regulations, he was removed from the vehicle and forcibly escorted. The State Police emphasizes that the use of force for the subject’s accompaniment was necessitated by his violent resistance to the execution of the court’s decision communicated by the Police officers.
