The actor Roland Trebicka passed away at the age of 66, exactly 12 years ago on March 6, 2013. He suffered from a serious illness that took his life 12 years ago.

Trebicka is considered one of the best actors in Albanian theater, with his numerous roles, and he became immortal with his portrayal of Jovan Bregu in the comedy “Pallati 176.”

Roland Trebicka was born in Korçë on January 18, 1947. His career as an actor began with the role of Kosta in the film “Debatik” in 1961. Perhaps from this moment, his future was already set. His spontaneous humor, which emerged even in the most difficult moments, stood out even during his military service, where he served as an actor in the professional troupe of SHQUP (Central House of the People’s Army), known as the “Soldier’s Estrada.” The years in this professional troupe were the necessary experience for Trebicka, which later paved the way for him to join the National Theater (formerly the People’s Theater). He became a member of the National Theater troupe in 1971 and worked there until 1999. After a three-year experience with the “Publimedia” company, he returned to the National Theater.

In his artistic life, Trebicka reached the peak of public success with his role as Jovan Bregu in the comedy “Pallati 176.” However, his roles in theater are numerous. Audiences fondly remember him in roles such as Xhenarino in “Magjia e madhe,” Zganareli in “Don Zhuani,” Hlestakov in “Inspektori” (“Revizor”), in “Një burrë me trandafil,” “Ne të gjithë këndonim Margaritën,” “Darka e të marrëve,” “Jashtë bie bore,” “Stjuardesat,” Count Almaviva in “The Barber of Seville,” Vincent in “Të gjithë me huqe,” “Një tablo absurd,” “Endrra e Ismail Qemalit,” and more. In 2002, for his role as the Guard in “The King is Dying,” Trebicka was nominated for the “Best Supporting Actor” award at the International Experimental Theater Festival in Cairo.

He also acted in several films, including “Ëndërr për një karrige” (Vaska) and “Koncert në vitin 1936” (Nesti). For his contribution to the stage, he was honored with the titles “Artist of Merit,” “Master of the Arts,” and the Municipality of Korçë awarded him the title “Honor of the City.”
