After a week, the road southwards in Albania will be shorter.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared photos again from the construction works of the Llogara Tunnel, which will open on July 5, 2024.

"For Dhërmi from the spectacular Llogara Tunnel. Just a few more days until the opening for free circulation," writes Rama.

The tunnel is also connected to the new Orikum-Dukat road, allowing the infrastructure towards the south of the country to shorten the distance in anticipation of record tourism numbers this year.

The tunnel will initially open in phases for passenger cars and buses, not heavy-duty vehicles.

The Llogara Tunnel starts from the St. Eliza bridge in the Dukat area to the Palasa bridge with a project cost of 139.6 million euros.
