The Day of Laurels is a holiday with a deep spiritual and symbolic meaning in Christian religious traditions. It is celebrated the day before Great Easter and is closely connected to the biblical event of Jesus' entry into the city of Jerusalem.

According to the Gospels, people greeted Him with enthusiasm by laying palm and laurel branches on the road — an act that symbolized honoring and welcoming a Savior King.

Laurel, in biblical culture and beyond, is a symbol of victory, glory, and eternal life. On this day, many believers receive blessed laurel branches in church and place them in their homes to bring peace, prosperity, and protection.

The Day of Laurels is also a moment for spiritual reflection, to contemplate the sacrifice, mercy, and love represented by the figure of Jesus. It marks the beginning of Holy Week and prepares the hearts of the faithful for the greatest event — the Resurrection of Christ.
