In these difficult hours of the struggle for life, the historical leader of the Socialist Party and the man who turned the unjust suffering of deprivation of freedom into the source of a liberal spirit in leadership, at a time when Albania faced the wild ugliness of a political conflict driven by the spirit of revenge, ignorance, darkness and the boundless ferocity of a great historical leap, from extreme communist isolation to democracy as an overwhelming ordeal, in a land scorched by the fire and iron of successive empires and regimes - the other since the independence of Albania, where the institutional status of the state could never grow and where the freedom that came with the fury of popular anger brought with it the light of the future and the terrible wounds of the destruction of many things in the name of the fight for democracy, today, together with our prayers, he deserves our great gratitude, for all the good he was able to give to the country and society in the heavy roles he had during his career with its ups and downs.
