Shame / Bello resigns then regrets

Debates have been fierce at the meeting of the Senate of the "Fan S. Noli" University in Korça. The decision was even made to cancel the merger with the University of Tirana. At one point, the Rector of this University resigned, but then Dhimitër Bello reversed the decision for himself, saying that it was emotional. Also, he stated that there would be no reductions in personnel from this merger.

Here is the statement from the rectorate of the university;

STATEMENT OF THE RECTORATE OF THE UNIVERSITY "FAN S. NOLI"

As you have been informed these last 24 hours from the discussions that have been made public in the media and social networks, the Academic Senate of UNIKO undertook an initiative to draw up a strategy to overcome the challenges that await it, through the initiation of procedures and the coordination of criteria for joining the University of Tirana.

After a wider discussion at the level of the central unit and the base unit, this initiative will be reconsidered in the future meetings of the decision-making bodies of the University, which will come out with a final decision.

Meanwhile, "Fan S. Noli" University continues to be an institution of higher education in full function of all its tasks and role.

The Academic Senate, the Board of Administration, the Rector, the Rectorate and its Deanships continue their normal work for the benefit of the academic activity, as an institution of higher education that fulfills every moral and academic expectation and obligation towards current students and those who will choose in the next academic years.
