Sejfulla Myftari (1952) – Comedy Actor.
He was born in Skrapar on February 25 and spent his childhood in the city of Përmet. He entered the world of acting through the Amateur Movement. His comedic facial expressions and gestures, the use of Central Albanian dialects, his ability to transform seamlessly from one role to another, and his creative use of makeup, wigs, costumes, and props quickly brought him to the Berat Estrada as a professional actor, where he performed for nearly 30 years.
He became one of Albania’s most renowned comedy actors, thanks to a vast array of roles played with charm and comic elegance on stage and television.
Sejfulla Myftari skillfully employed elements of burlesque and grotesque humor, incorporating distortions, caricatures, and comedic exaggerations while remaining natural and organic in his expressions and movements, which had a distinct personal signature.
His roles often depicted cunning and lazy peasants, swindlers, men with sharp wit and peculiar habits, drunkards, corrupt officials, and sharp-minded, witty characters who knew how to mock others without being noticed. These roles were highlighted in humorous productions such as Brigada e Dalluar, Allo Llushnja, Kështu Ruhet Prona, Kryetari i Kooperativës, Zotime për Bujë, Në Mal, and many others.
He was equally successful in several comedy films directed by Arian Çuliqi, including Fundi i Marrëzisë, Gjithë Fajet i Ka Paraja, Dashuri me Krizma, Borxhliu, and Një Baba Tepër.
He holds the honorary title of “Artist i Merituar” (Merited Artist). The great comedy actor Sejfulla Myftari was also honored by former President of Albania Bujar Nishani with the prestigious title “Mjeshtër i Madh” (Grand Master).
