The Prefect Nertil Jole participates in the twinning between the municipality of Korçë and that of Chambéry, France

At the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of France, Mrs. Catherine Suard, I participated in the meeting organized at the Korçë municipality, within the framework of the twinning process between our city’s municipality and the municipality of Chambéry in France.

The delegation from France was led by the Mayor of Chambéry, Mr. Thierry Repentin, and focused on further promoting cooperation in important areas such as culture, education, tourism, and agriculture.

I thanked the Ambassador and the Mayor for their serious commitment and meaningful support for our city, while also expressing my eagerness to begin working on the reopening of the French Lyceum in Korçë. This request from Prime Minister Rama was well-received by President Macron during his historic visit to our country.

To fulfill the task assigned by the Prime Minister, the Prefect’s institution will support the selected French education expert who will be involved in the professional reopening of the Lyceum. Additionally, it will ensure the assistance and cooperation of institutions at both the central and local levels.

Such interactions enrich the quality of the traditional friendly relations between the two countries and create the right foundation to elevate Albanian Francophonie to a new level.
