Today, we commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the birth of actor Vasil Goda. Honor and respect for his legacy!

Vasil Goda (1943-2024) – Actor. Born in Vlorë on February 15, he was one of the founding actors of the “Petro Marko” Theater in Vlorë in 1962. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts in 1967 with a degree in acting. Throughout his career, he played over 90 roles, becoming one of the leading actors of this theater.

He was a protagonist from the very first premiere of the Vlorë theater in the drama Fundosja e Skuadrës by Kujtim Spahivogli. His acting stood out for its realism, complemented by a strong voice, making him a preferred choice for portraying epic and heroic figures. He masterfully balanced grandeur with human depth, as seen in roles such as Hodo in Lidhur si fishekë gjerdani, Bato in Jatagani, and Isa Boletini in Besa e trojeve, among others.

Beyond epic and dramatic performances, in his later years, his acting extended into the realm of comedy, showcasing refined humor, sharp satire, grotesque elements, and sarcasm.

Some of his most notable roles were in plays such as Një dashuri e tillë (Vasllav Kral), Për ata që janë në det, Sezoni dimëror i kafe “Rivierës”, Tri mëndjet në ankand (Professor), Rinoceronti, Njeriu i borës, Terroristi i një qyteti, S.O.S. në hotel, Para semaforit, Cece (Cecea), and Shpirti i ujkut (Aleksi).

Vasil Goda was also a distinguished reciter of Albanian poetry and prose in numerous artistic performances.

He passed away on May 21, 2024.
