The renowned Turkish singer Ferdi Tayfur has passed away at the age of 79 at Medical Park Hospital in Antalya, where he had been receiving long-term treatment. Throughout his illustrious career, he left behind a legacy of numerous albums and songs beloved by Turkish audiences and beyond.
Ferdi Tayfur began experiencing health issues on December 15, when he felt unwell at his home in Marmaris. Initially admitted to a private hospital in the city, he was later transferred to a medical facility in Mugla, where he faced significant health challenges. During his treatment, he underwent a critical operation in Antalya, where a stent was placed in a brain vessel.
In 2020, he had encountered severe health complications that required dialysis. At that time, his son generously donated a kidney to support his treatment. Despite extensive medical efforts, his health continued to deteriorate, leading to his passing after a prolonged struggle.
Ferdi Tayfur was a legendary figure in Turkish music, with a career spanning over five decades. His rich artistic legacy will be cherished and remembered by future generations.
