In Athens, the highly sought-after Jani Alia, 47 years old, sentenced to life imprisonment, is captured and arrested.
The Criminal Police Department, after investigative work and securing information, identified the location of Jani Alia, who had been hiding in Athens. Thanks to close cooperation and information exchange between the State Police and Greek authorities, the Greek Police successfully concluded the “IN TIME” operation, arresting this individual.
Interpol Tirana, in coordination with Interpol Athens, is continuing the procedures for his extradition to Albania.

The State Police, in collaboration with Greek authorities, has completed the international “IN TIME” operation, which resulted in the arrest of Jani Alia, a fugitive sentenced to life imprisonment. Alia, aged 47, had been hiding in Athens. After extensive investigation and information-sharing between Albanian and Greek law enforcement, the Greek Police successfully apprehended him. Interpol is now coordinating his extradition back to Albania. The State Police emphasizes its continued dedication to international cooperation in tackling organized crime and apprehending wanted criminals.
