The teams of the Albanian Superliga, and specifically Skënderbeu, have no time to rest, as the workload will be heavy starting this week with official matches that will begin very soon. In fact, the first match for the Korça team will be on January 11, Saturday, with their first away game of 2025 against Partizani in the capital.
It has now been made official that Skënderbeu has started training sessions since January 3, and according to the club, these sessions will continue until Friday at the “Tropical” Resort in Durrës, where the team has been gathered for several days. All players are now under the orders of Ernest Gjoka, and there are also new players who have joined the team during this winter transfer window, but their names have not been made public yet.
Time is not enough, and Skënderbeu will have to take the field this Saturday against Partizani first, followed by other matches in the Albanian Cup and the league.
Thus, after January 11, when the southern team will play against Partizani in the capital, Skënderbeu will spend the rest of January at home. On January 15, just a few days after the 20th round, Skënderbeu will play a match in the Albanian Cup, where in the 1/8 round they will host Vora at the “Skënderbeu” stadium, a team from the first division.
Later in January, there are two more matches to be played at the southeastern stadium, both of which, based on the draw, will see Skënderbeu as the home team. On January 19, Skënderbeu will face Vllaznia, and a week later, on January 25, they will host Teuta. Therefore, in the first month of the year, Skënderbeu will play three matches at home and only one away.
Based on the draw, Skënderbeu has the chance to overcome the crisis, but crises are overcome with results, and right from the start of 2025, Gjoka’s team will seek a change, as the last place in the “Abissnet Superiore,” which the team currently holds, has left them morally far from where they should be. Let’s wait and see, as even the first match of this year is not far away, and Skënderbeu will not have much time to prepare.
