Skënderbeu will play its first match of the second phase on Saturday, kicking off the first round of this phase.
Everyone remembers the opening match of the season, where Skënderbeu and Elbasan drew 1-1 at the “Skënderbeu” stadium. The white and reds took the lead in the 18th minute through Elvis Prençi, while Bruno Lulaj equalized in the 82nd minute, both goals coming from the captains of their respective teams.
Now it’s time for Skënderbeu to visit Elbasan again, with the match scheduled for Saturday at 17:00. The situation within the team looks positive following their second win, restoring confidence that Skënderbeu can earn points anywhere, despite gaining their first points of the season in away matches against Bylis.
Regarding player returns, defender Lucho Vasquez, who missed the previous match in Ballsh due to a suspension for a red card, is set to return.
The only long-term concern appears to be Ardit Nikaj, who will be out for at least three months. There has yet to be an official statement from Skënderbeu regarding the injury, but it is expected that Nikaj will undergo surgery, confirming that he will miss a minimum of three months.
Adding to this, Andrea Gerco, who has left Skënderbeu, is another concern for the team ahead of the Elbasan match. However, the coaching staff has more players available, including those recently acquired in the summer transfer window. One thing is certain: Skënderbeu is heading to Elbasan this weekend aiming for points.
