Heavy snowfall in the United Kingdom has caused transportation issues. Train stations and airports are experiencing disruptions this morning, travel expert Simon Calder told the BBC.
Calder explains that more than 11 cancellations are in effect at London Waterloo train station due to power supply issues following heavy overnight snowfall.
“In Liverpool, trains are running without passengers to assess how the situation unfolds,” Calder continues.
Manchester Airport has reopened both runways after temporarily closing them for several hours this morning.
In a statement on X, Manchester Airport said that some departures and arrivals “may still face delays as teams work to de-ice aircraft and clear pathways.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool John Lennon Airport announced that they would reopen their runway this morning at 10:15 GMT, although flight delays are expected.
Leeds Bradford Airport is another airport affected by the severe weather, confirming that the runway was closed but expressing hope to reopen it by 12:00, depending on changing conditions.
