The British police announced today that they have found a woman who went missing from the city of Coventry 52 years ago. Sheila Fox, who disappeared from Coventry in 1972 at the age of 16, is safe and living elsewhere in the country, according to West Midlands Police.
In December, the police made a renewed appeal for help in locating Fox, posting a photo of her from the time of her disappearance on their website and social media. Within hours of the announcement, citizens contacted the police with information about Sheila Fox, reports the BBC.
“Every missing person has a story, and their families and friends deserve to know what has happened to them. We hope to reunite them,” said Sergeant Jenna Shaw, who was involved in the investigation. It is still unclear under what circumstances Fox disappeared in 1972.
