January 10, 1942, 83 years ago today, the giant of the Albanian stage was born. Robert Ndrenika, the man of over 30 roles in films, Agushi in Zonja nga Fshati, Socrates in Vëllezër dhe Shokë, Stefi in Në Shtëpinë Tonë, Vangjeli in Përrallë nga e Kalua, and countless roles in theater.
A highly beloved actor by all generations, he always brings messages of weight and relevance through his roles. Everyone loves and admires his simplicity. He is appreciated for his behavior in real life, but also for the characters that have now become part of him. No one forgets his witty lines in theater or films, two worlds.
Robert Ndrenika has two daughters. He had a beautiful love story with his wife, Polikseni. He adored his wife, and she, too, adored him, always accompanying him to rehearsals. But after Polikseni fell ill and passed away, Robert Ndrenika suffered greatly from the loss of his wife. So much so that for four years, he did not set foot in the theater.
However, in April 2012, he overcame his grief and made a powerful return to the stage with the role of Dr. Shuster. He was honored by the president at the time, Bamir Topi, with the title “Honor of the Nation” (2012).
In 2014, he entered the world of a capricious character through the premiere of Djemtë Gazmore, a play written by American writer Neil Simon.
In 2015, he was named Actor of the Year, and during the award ceremony, the audience stood up and applauded him for a long time in honor and respect.
