The matches of the 1/8 phase of the Albanian Cup have ended, determining the eight quarterfinal teams of this edition.
Laçi, Bylis, Skënderbeu, Egnatia, Dinamo City, Vllaznia, Partizani, and AF Elbasani are the eight teams qualified for the next phase of the Albanian Cup.
On Tuesday, Laçi defeated Kukësi 3-1, while Bylis secured qualification in extra time after beating Tirana 2-1.
Today, six other matches of the 1/8 phase were played. Egnatia defeated Kastrioti 4-0, while Dinamo City triumphed 6-1 against Erzeni. Thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory, Skënderbeu secured qualification against Vora.
In other matches, Partizani beat Apolonia 2-0, while the matches Vllaznia – Besa and Teuta – AF Elbasani went to extra time after finishing 0-0 in regular time.
AF Elbasani scored twice in extra time and secured qualification, finishing the match 2-0.
Meanwhile, in “Loro Boriçi,” the red-blue team of Vllaznia scored the winning goal in the 108th minute, advancing further in the Albanian Cup.
For the determination of the quarterfinal pairings, a free draw will be held among the eight teams qualified for this stage.
According to the competition regulations, the pots for the quarterfinal draw of the Albanian Cup have been divided. In Pot 1 are: Egnatia, Partizani, Vllaznia, and Skënderbeu. In Pot 2 are: Laçi, Dinamo City, Bylis, and AF Elbasani.
The matches will be played in a home-and-away format, with two legs, and the first leg will be played on the field of the teams positioned in Pot 2.
In the coming days, it will be announced when the draw for the quarterfinals of the Albanian Cup will take place.
